Undercut
Undercut scoring
Undercut scores race weekend predictions by how close your driver position picks are to the real result. Exact positions score highest, near misses still earn points, and fastest lap plus bonus picks add to the weekend total. Points are in-app only—there is no real-money wagering or cash prize.
How does Undercut scoring work?
Every locked race-position pick is compared to the official finishing order after the race. You earn more points when you are exact, fewer when you are close, and a small miss score when you are far off. Optional fastest-lap and bonus-pick points stack into your weekend total.
Last updated: 2026-07-29. Default public model. League admins can override scoring config; this page describes the default used in docs and the calculator.
Race position points (default)
| Match quality | Position difference | Points |
|---|---|---|
| Exact | 0 | 5 |
| 1 off | 1 | 4 |
| Close | 2 | 3 |
| Close | 3 | 2 |
| Miss | 4 or more | 1 |
- You pick a driver P3; they finish 3rd → Exact → 5
- You pick P3; they finish 2nd or 4th → 1 off → 4
- You pick P3; they finish 5th (2 off) → 3
- You pick P3; they finish 7th+ (4+ off) → 1
Fastest lap
- Correct fastest-lap pick: +3 points
- Incorrect: 0
Bonus picks
Bonus picks are weekend questions configured for your league (driver select, outcome-style questions, and similar). Their points add into the weekend total after they resolve. Bonus picks are in-app points only—not real-money stakes.
Weekend total (simple formula)
Weekend total = sum(position pick points) + fastest lap points (0 or 3) + bonus pick points

Championship picks
Where championship-style predictions are enabled, they add season-long rivalry on top of weekend scoring. Weekend race scoring still follows the position / fastest lap / bonus model above.

Frequently asked questions
How does Undercut scoring work?
Undercut compares your locked finishing-position picks to the real result. Exact hits score 5 points by default; near misses score less as the gap grows; misses still score 1. Fastest lap and bonus picks can add more.
What is a near-miss?
A near-miss is when your predicted position is close but not exact—for example one, two, or three places off. Near misses still earn points under the default model.
How many points is fastest lap?
A correct fastest-lap pick scores 3 points under the default model.
Can my league change the scoring rules?
Yes. League admins can override the default prediction config. The public scoring page and calculator describe the default model.
Does scoring involve real money?
No. All points are in-app only for standings and bragging rights.
Where can I try example scores?
Use the Undercut scoring calculator at https://playundercut.com/scoring/calculator to model exact hits, near misses, fastest lap, and bonus points.
